 "It’s finally time for a replacement…"
new
I bought the Intek after auditioning it against the Audiolab 8000A and hefty Yamaha. The Yamaha was good but not blown-away good, and I found the Audiolab was very ‘dry’ and analytical. The Linn made everyone in the room tap feet and reach for more records to try; especially me. My mum said I should have my head examined when she heard I’d spent £850 on something that wasn’t at least half of a car, but this amp has driven and controlled many different speakers (I’ve moved house a lot) and delivered all music with emotion. Rega turntable has been in the system the whole time plus various tuners and cd players. So now that it has a few cracks/pops I’ll miss it but will always be in awe of its quietly going about its’ business. For 38 years.
